Cette église témoigne de la mission congrégationaliste du canton d'Eaton qui débute en 1812 et l'église tel que nous la voyons aujourd'hui fût dédicacé en 1841. Ainsi, l'église d'Eaton Corner constitue l'un des plus anciens lieux de culte érigés pour celle-ci subsistant au Québec. L'église est située dans l'ancien noyau villageois d'Eaton Corner, aujourd'hui intégré à la municipalité de Cookshire-Eaton. Ce bien ainsi que l'immeuble de l'Académie situé en face d el'église est classé immeuble patrimonial depuis 1963.
L'église habrite depuis 1959 la société du Musée historique du comté de Compton maintenant connu sous le nom du Musée Eaton Corner. Le Musée Eaton Corner posssède une collection d'archives et d'artefact et organise divers projets culturels et activités éducatives offert au public.
This former Congregational Church built in 1841. The architecture of the Church and the Academy, as well as of many homes in Eaton Corner, are excellent examples of the American influence of architectural styles which inspired the earliest settlers . In 1959, the church was bought by the Compton County Historical Society and became a home for the County Museum. The Provincial Government of Quebec has designatedthis building and the Academy as historic sites in 1963. Since 1959, The Compton County Historical Museum Society - has been a non-profit community organization that manages the Historical Museum in Eaton Corner, maintains collections and archival materials donated by local families and organizations, and organizes projects, social activities, and educational events throughout the year which are related to its purpose.
